I have been photographing families in and around Deep Creek Lake for over 25 years. I come to you for your Deep Creek Lake Family Photography session and normally the photography happens at your vacation rental home or a location on the lakefront somewhere or a state park. I work hard to exceed your expectations and deliver images that will be cherished and important memories for generations.
General Information
I give you the fully adjusted high resolution digital images ready to print with great results from almost any lab or photo kiosk. No further compensation to us. I open each image in NX Capture for initial levels and light tool adjustment (if needed) and Photoshop for final processing. You have full rights to the images and you can duplicate, share and reproduce the images with no further compensation to me. The archive file link stays live on our server for two years.

I have been a Photoshop Professional for over 25 years and each image gets a review and adjustments for optimum quality.
- You will never see any red eye and some of the images will get creative touches and enhancing effects.
- We often times use fill flash to brighten the eyes and avoid dark eye sockets and provide a nice catch light in the eyes. The old adage of sun at your back doesn’t really work because it causes folks to squint and that’s why I often use a flash to light the subject against a bright background such as the lake.
- Should images require special retouching or digital compositing (for example digitally adding a family member that couldn’t make it) extra services are available.
- You are given a download link for the full set and a set of low resolution images for the web and email.
- We send you a first sample including the main group photo within 3-5 days. Final set sent in 2-3 weeks.
Photography Session Details
Please feel free to call or contact us anytime. In the height of the summer season especially for last minute sessions, calling is always best. We always encourage families to make a list of the photographs they want. That way we won’t miss an important grouping or photo idea. In my experience no list, is Ok too and I am more than comfortable working without one. There is time for photos with the whole group (usually 2-3 locations) and of the grandchildren, couple photos, break out sessions for family groupings and portraits of the kids individually or maybe candidly. Folks need profile photos? No problem just let me know or add them to your list. I try to mix up the backgrounds and move around during the session so individual family group portraits don’t have the same exact look. If you aren’t sure how much time you need or have questions about outfits or anything, please contact or call us.
Prints
We really have gone forward with the times and the DIY movement so we simply give you the images and encourage you to upload images to one of the many online photo services, or just go your local CVS or Walmart Kiosk. There are no prints included for our family photography services. In the past we hosted online galleries where you could order prints, but clients always ended up paying more than they could find themselves. Many photo and storage services can host your shareable photo galleries free or at a very cost. We also provide you with a complete set of low resolution images for the easy online sharing of your family photo session. Images are delivered via web link where you click the url to download the entire set of processed images. This link can be shared with anyone. Photos are archived on our server for two years. We also provide you with a note that authorizes you to reproduce the photos (required by some labs when they sense professional photos). If you really need help ordering prints, we’d be happy to help you, however there would be additional fees for prints and consultation.
Session Fees
We like to keep it simple and just take as many photos as we can in the allotted time. Most one hour sessions end up with approx 100 images being delivered, and two hours 200+.

Booking a Session
Our schedule is very busy so we encourage interested clients to get on our schedule as soon as possible. You can always try and call while you are here, but chances are advance scheduling would be required. Especially if you have limited date flexibility. Most sessions happen outside so we advise you to try and book a session early on in your stay in case we need to try and reschedule because of bad weather. We can’t guarantee anything regarding weather but we will do our best to be flexible if necessary.
- Deposits: Non refundable deposits are required to confirm your session. Your will be sent a receipt which serves as your confirmation.
